I went LIVE for the first time the other week and wanted to write down my thoughts here to come back to. If you missed the Facebook Live video you can catch the replay here.
Why did it take me so long to go LIVE…especially as a Marketing professional? I workout at home, work from home and obviously live here so most of the time I am in casual clothes, hair up and no make-up. Here’s what made me bite the bullet…
For the last few weeks I have been in a branding business course by Kaye Putnam who, btw, is a fantastic resource of info especially if you’re in this industry. She shares LOADS of free education and downloads so go check her out!
But anyways, I have been in her course learning how I can better my brand and improve for current and future clients. It really got me thinking on my brand and I know nearly every one of the small-business owners I work with have had the same questions so I’m hoping this clarity not only helps you learn more about me and my business but also how to help out in YOUR business.
So write this down and think a little about this…
If you could do one thing for the rest of your life
what would it be?
Now think….
If you lost every material thing you owned what would you have left to give?
What about your brand?
Point is…branding is more than a logo.
A brand represents a promise you make your customer.
Sure. Logos are pretty. They’re fun to create, fun to get, fun to post or print…but people don’t stick around because you’ve got a cool logo. At the end of the day that’s just text and an image that makes your brand instantly recognizable.
Your Brand Value is the extent to which they trust you to deliver on that promise.
They’re going to stick around because of what makes you different.
What makes you unique.
It might be as simple as the fact that you’re a family friend of all of your clients or the only one in town who provides that service. Or you might be worried that in a super ‘saturated’ market you can just do your best.
And you’ve got two resources…
…at your hands that you can offer to everyone in your life.
Time and Money.
You get to choose which one you want to spend.
More time trying to figure out how to market your business equals less time that you get to spend actually working on what makes you happy in your business and that’s even LESS time spent at home with your family where you really want to be.
And that’s why you set out to be an entrepreneur, right?
So it might sound like a lot. Maybe it’s a little scary? Maybe it sounds like something you’ve thought or you’ve said?
I see you.
You’re the business owner who just launched their big idea into the world.
The business owner who is too scared, too busy or too overwhelmed to launch.
When you’re not taking care of your family, running your business or trying to enjoy the ‘free’ moments of your weekend, you’re feeling overworked, overwhelmed and undervalued.
It feels like you’ve tried everything and no one cares to listen.
People say what you have is great yet they don’t buy from you.
You feel like you don’t have the time, the money or the manpower to make it all happen.
What else is there for you to do?
I’m here to help. I’m here to get you back to working on what makes you happy.
You can choose what you do but you can’t always choose what you LIKE to do.
Maybe you don’t like laundry or dishes or grocery shopping but you need to do it.
Maybe you don’t like the planning, strategizing or posting on social media for your business or side hustle but you still NEED to do it, like it or not, because you’ve got people counting on you.
The Number One Marketing Mistake
I see people make is having something great to share, sell or talk about…but they aren’t marketing it. They aren’t doing videos, taking pictures, talking about it or creating accounts and websites. How can people buy from you if they don’t even know about it?
How can you expect people to leave reviews and tell their friends if they’re not educated on how best to work it?
If you’re not marketing what you have, you don’t have a business. If you think you have something people need and your goal is to help them in some way, TELL THEM.
Maybe you don’t think you can ‘compete’ or you’ve got a case of imposter syndrome. No matter what you can decide that, at a minimum, you’ll be different not better than the competition or others in your industry or YOURSELF. Lean in to those things and, at the very least, just give yourself a chance.
I’m here to simplify, answer, confirm and choose. Let’s collaborate. Let’s work together. Drop a comment below or leave me a message on my social media and let’s get together. As always, you can claim your FREE Discovery Session...we can figure out the next best step for you!
